Your food addiction may have a genetic basis as well as a psychological basis. That said we can’t exactly blame your parents in the matter at least totally. In addition, “blame” is a tough word with a negative judgment of the person one is blaming in many cases. For example, the Cambridge Dictionary Online defines blame as follows:

If you are reading this blog is it likely you have responsibility for the ongoing process of your disease although it is not something you did wrong on a conscious and deliberate basis in most cases to have this disease. There are solutions if you are ready to take action and you are responsible for making a decision now on what to do about the disease. I would not judge you as “wrong” to decide to do nothing about the disease and ultimately die from it. That said you would not be here if you were not looking for another option at some level. Also, know research shows most folks by far who are obese do not have mental health problems and they do not have some great moral failing that is causing their food addiction.
