Food Addiction Recovery – #3

The food addiction formula for success is Right knowledge + Commitment + Action = Success! It’s not enough to know what you have to do without being committed to doing it. Similarly, all the determination in the world won’t get you anywhere if you don’t have a plan. Map out the steps you need to take, and commit yourself to doing them. Then work your plan.  Some people even find it helpful to sign a contract with themselves or better still with someone else you know, like, trust and find credible. If you combine the right knowledge with commitment then success will follow, just as surely as 2 + 2 = 4.

Food Addiction Recovery – Changing For Good!

Next to further your food addiction recovery I suggest you buy the classic book Changing for Good by three research psychologists named Prochaska, Norcross and Diclemente.  You will learn all about the six stages or better-said spiral of how change happens which can be beneficial for any food addict. The secret to changing habits for good are in that book and the 6 stages with what to do in each stage are there as well.  The first three stages are:

Precontemplation – this is when the person really does not see a problem at all.  Some people would call it being in denial. Others may see they have a problem but the person does not. By the way, it is possible to help people in this stage.

Contemplation – at this point people know they have a problem and are beginning to think seriously about how to solve the issue although they may not yet realize they are a food addict.

Preparation – at this stage the person is planning to take some action within the next few weeks usually.

Since you are reading this blog post now you almost certainly are in one of these stages at least and of course are probably have a food addiction or have a loved one who is a food addict.  Now, as a bit of a teaser you will need to wait for the next blog post to read about the rest of the stages he says with a small grin.  Of course you could take action now and buy the book online now but then I would be encouraging you to leave my site which is a major sin in website writing – another grin.  Until next time then.
